Quality Assurance Requirement

Training is mandatory for every exhibitor, every year by the State Rules for California Fairs.

Youth for Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a National Multi-Species Assurance Program for Youth,

with a focus on three core pillars: Food Safety, Animal Well Being and Character Development.

YQCA certification is a requirement of the Santa Barbara County Fair.

This program includes information for youth showing the following food animals:

  • Pigs
  • Beef Cattle
  • Dairy Cattle
  • Sheep
  • Goats
  • Market Rabbits
  • Poultry

YQCA is available as an online program for youth everywhere in the United States. You will be asked to

provide proof to Fair with Certificate of Training.
